Apple CarPlay Retrofit soon?

LS500 / Apple Carplay
I recently bought the LS 500, which I think is a great car. Very different from my LS460, harder ride, more sporty, much more noisy, a lot more tech. But a great car.
The problem is it does not have Apple Carplay. Even a base Hyundai has Apple Carplay!
Now I see the Toyota Avalon, and the new Lexus UX and ES, will have Apple Carplay.
So how the hell can these offer it, and not the so-called flagship, the LS 500!!
My expectation is that once the new UX and ES hit the market, Lexus will do the right thing and offer (at no cost) a retrofit of Apple Carplay to those customers who spent a great deal of money, on average over $100,000 on the LS500.
If Tesla can do wireless updates, why can't Lexus do an update to enable the 2018 LS 500 to run Carplay. The vehicle already has Siri Eyes Free!!

I'd be shocked if Lexus did such a thing. I agree that they should...but I bet they won't.

The important point, however, is the one that Steve makes. Even if the 2019 LS were to get Carplay, it's very unlikely that Lexus will provide an update/upgrade to the 2018 LS to enable Carplay.
I have a 2014 LS, and how I wish Lexus would provide an infotainment system upgrade that would update the graphics and display options to those in the 2017 LS. I would bet it's all just a software update, and I would be willing to pay a few hundred bucks to upgrade, but Lexus hasn't offered such an upgrade. C'mon Lexus, if Tesla can do it, so can you!

If anyone watches the reviews of the new ES. Apparently android auto will be coming to all ES models eventually and it will be with a software update. I would fully expect the LS to get an update at some point, it’s not that hard to do.

Lexus remains committed to enhancing our in-vehicle multimedia guest experience. We are currently conducting an internal trial for Apple CarPlay® compatibility in some 2018 LC, 2018 LS, 2018/19 NX, 2018 RC, 2018/19 RC F, and 2019 ES (non-navigation). At this time, we do not have any additional information we can share but anticipate providing further details to the applicable guests in Summer 2019.

Me too!. Really missing it . I found that the LS navigation gives me the longest possible route options while navigating. If google gives me a 20mile route, all 3 options will be 60+ miles. So I always have to run google and run the Lexus nav in silent mode while going somewhere. it would be great to have it display in the lexus screen. Cant wait.
