Sewell Lexus in Dallas installed mine this week. There is lots more to learn (e.g., which voice command is active). It does require that the phone be connected to the USB port.

Apple Car Play includes google maps now with the satellite view. I don't think I'll use it much, but it's a cool thing to show off to someone.

That is actually cool. If you are in a new place and don't know the place very well, you can check the satellite view to get a better sense of place before parking and getting out!

And it's BS that I was told that I'd never get CarPlay in my Lexus. Granted, I don't use it in any other car I own, but I'd use waze if I could!

I just got Apple CarPlay installed. Waze is available. Haven't used it yet via CarPlay though.

I got the CarPlay updated today . But the dealership did not restore any of the customizations or favorites in navigation etc! Very careless. Now I have to do all that all over again!
So if you are going to get it done, remind them about making sure your settings are intact.

Really enjoying the update. Google maps with sat view is my new go to nav tool. It’s also awesome to look at on the 12.3”. Glad Lexus stepped up to the plate and got the retrofit sorted. It was great to see album covers while driving with the playlist, but why can’t lexus enable it full screen? Haven’t tried the Lexus + Alexa app yet, but I like the potential.

I just upgraded Apple carplay yesterday. Everything works great except that eOwner Manuals is missing. Anybody knows how to reload it? Thanks

There should be a disc included with your owners manual. I reinstalled mine that way.

I have 2018 LS500 without the CD. The dealer said CDs only come with 2019 models. Also, I thought the CD is just like an electronic version of the manual and it doesn't have the files to load to the car.
Some member sent me an installation zip file, but it was NX model, not LS.

Your dealer is wrong. My LS came off the first boat in Feb of last year and the CD was included with the (hardcopy) owners manual.
