Difference between Normal and Comfort modes
I've been driving my LS 500 in Comfort mode since delivery. Recently, I switched to Normal mode to diagnose a transmission issue and realized I can't definitively tell the difference between the 2 modes! What exactly does it do to the car?

On roads in relatively good condition, you're correct, you can't feel much difference. Try it on a bumpy city street. Comfort definitely softens the bumps more than normal mode.
Personally, I drive in a custom mode: Comfort chassi, sport power, and normal climate. My only real beef is that I have to manually select it each time, and you have to wait about 10 seconds before you can set it, despite the manual saying it should change after the system boots up if you set it during the boot process.. The car should remember the last mode used each time you start up. But to do that, it would reduce their EPA rating, so they don't do it. Do people shelling out $100,000 for a car really care that much about 1-2 mpg???
