Future Lexus LS Models Could Feature Alternative Powerplants

Lexus' latest flagship currently comes with both hybrid and conventional gas-powered configurations. But at least three other options are on the table!

Asia too, probably to serve as GS replacement, though more pricy. I have driven it.

How does the LS350 drive? I've read some reviews saying that it is underpowered.

Unless one of those "alternative power plants" is a V8, I'll pass lol

Yep, bring back a mean V8 and offer an "alternative" bi-turbo V12 and Lexus will get my attention back.

Every Lexus model I have driven since the ISF is underpowered compared to their respective rivals. But I have not tested any of the LS350 competitors.

So subjectively, it uses 10 gears to stack closer ratios together and so the acceleration numbers isn’t too bad compared to the GS350 which only has 8 gears. But for me that way of getting accelerative performance doesn’t suit the class of car it aims to be. Power and performance should be effortless in this class, (I enjoyed that even in the Kia Stinger) rather than buzzy and whiney. That, plus it feeling like a much smaller car to drive than it’s predecessors, suggests to me this side has blinked and is positioning away from direct competition with the established rivals.
