US release date info?
I've owned a Lexus since 1990, but am considering ordering a MB S-class to replace my 2001 Lexus LS since I'm not happy about the current move towards "sporty" cars and the extreme styling and grill. After looking at reviews of the new LS it seems like a wonderful car, but I'm still not sure about the grill and the downsized engine to a V6. Aside from those 2 factors it looks like it might be a good alternative to the S-class, but unfortunately it's not out yet and there's no info on options or price.
Is there any information on a US release date and when we'll be able to configure one online? With the S560 I would have to custom order one so it wouldn't arrive for a couple months. I wouldn't want to do that if the new Lexus LS 500 will be out by then or close to then.

I am sure there would be any number of Lexus dealerships that would love to sell you an LS500. Contact dealerships near you about your interest, and I am predicting they will do their best to answer all your questions about release date and pricing.
Based on what I have read and watched, the base LS500, still nicely equipped, will be priced at 72-75K. Release date appears to be Feb 2018.

Where did you hear about the Feb 2018 release date?

I asked at my local dealership and one person said mid December, another said early next year. They said the only info they had was what's on the official Lexus website, which is just a few pictures and videos and didn't know anything about colors, options, etc.

I would say December or so for orders (Lexus hates orders) for a Feb release.

LS expected to hit U.S. showrooms February, 2018. Historically, I've advised buyers here 90 to 120 calendar days for
special ordered LS from receipt of order to when it comes off the truck. Weather like hurricanes or similar can delay arrival dates
by a couple of weeks also.

If it helps they were released in other markets, I visited a lexus showroom overseas and they had plenty of LS500 but way more LS350's (these will not be available in the US)
I must say it is very nice! I am impressed! I kinda liked the 350's because that engine is proven. Not to sure about the turbo 6 cylinders just yet. The car is huge and low, kinda looks like a porsche panamera in the back. Super comfy, quiet interior. Def on my wish list!

Why would it impact the LC500? Very different cars.
