Every year they're pumping the performance of the 3.5 V6... so impressive. And can't agree more.
It's not all about peak hp numbers. For a big, heavy luxury car, it's about smooth, effortless, quiet, reliable power. You can get just about any engine to deliver big hp, but how it delivers it will be very different. The torque curves will be very different. Transmission patterns will be different. Redlines will be different, leading almost assuredly to noise levels varying. Just about the entire acceleration experience will vary. Some are suitable for a flagship luxury car. Others, not so much.
