Issue with cruise control
However , I do have a problem with my cruise control. Hopefully it's just something I'm not understanding, however I feel it is something else.
Maybe you can help me out to figure out what's going on. I brought this up to the lexus dealer two times and they are not able to give me a good answer as to what the problem or solution is.
Seems like sometimes they are either unaware of the problem or they ignore that I have a problem.
When setting the cruise control , I use the buttons on the steering wheel, on the right hand side of the steering wheel.
First I set the cruise control with the larger button to the right of the cancel button. This button works well in setting the initial cruise control setting, which is whatever speed I am at the time I pressed the button. So now I'm on the road, and I decide I want to speed up either by pressing the +RES button to the left of the cancel button, or I just speed up by pressing the gas pedal down.
Next I decide I'm going to fast and so I hit the cancel button or tap the brakes.
Now the car slows down to a lower speed.
Okay, now here comes the problem: I decide I want to set the cruise again, so I press the -SET button to the left of the cancel button. The speed at which the cruise sets is not the speed that I am currently traveling at, it usually sets at a much higher speed. Once in awhile, when I press the -SET button at this point, the cruise actually does set at the speed I am currently traveling at, but most of the time, it sets it at a much higher speed, frustrating, and a bit dangerous.
Any thoughts on what the problem is, or what I am doing wrong?
Thank you in advance for any insight, wisdom or solution you may be able to share about my problem.
Happy motoring , and may God bless your day!
David
