I have a JL audio 12 inch sub box with built-in amp I’d like to add to my 2021 LS500 F-Sport with the factory Mark Levinson system. A local shop told me I have to disconnect the factory ANC (active noise cancellation) for it to function properly. Has anyone else tackled this project before? I’d like to leave the entire factory system as-is including the ANC on. Simply just want to add the JL amp and sub. Any help would be great, thank you.

 

I'm surprised you need one, I found this one to be good with Mark Levinson compared to the others. I know when I had my GS a shop told me the same thing as well as they would need to turn off the factory sub, so I believe it for it to work well unless you redo who whole system.

 

The Lexus LS500 Mark Levinson sound system is not anywhere near as good as the LS460. The bass is weak, and the whole system is weak. In the LS460, the bass is ultra-strong, clean, and clear, like a $10,000 sound system at home.

I played with different options on this car. My first set up was 2 10 inch subs, then I changed out some speakers, added some tweeters. The my second setup was one 12, Then my third setup was 1 massive 12, 2 horns, added 8 mid bass speakers. I'm in love with this setup. The Mark Levinson was cool but not enough base for me. And When I added a sub with the Mark Levinson speakers it was more bass and no vocals now I have an all around setup. But the only thing is I didn't remove the active noise canceling so I do hear the feed back and I didn't take out the Mark Levinson amp. But it sounds amazing tho!!
