Default 2026 Mirai

The 2026 Mirai is based on the Lexus LS platform.
Is Toyota raiding the now deceased LS parts bin?

The Mirai, LS and LC all share the same platform since 2018

I guess Toyota will continue making a few each year as long as they are committed to hydrogen technology.
LS 500 styling should should stay popular as long as the current Mirai is produced.

This is how popular hydrogen technology is.

I believe the cars are ony availble for lease and only in California?
We all have that vision of a HYDROGEN BOMB and Trump kind of insinuated they are not safe.
Know whats not safe? Gasoline. But we make it work. Not to go there, but I am, its seems trump sort of ***** on Wind, Solar or anything not oil or "Clean Coal" (LOL) for what ever reason.

I Get it, its not always about the tech but the logistics of things. We are far from ready form being able to commit all the way to EV but mades sense to get there incrementally. Personally I'd like to get my cars to one Hybrid, say an luxury SUV thing like the RX, and say a local car that need not have great range. While prices are stable to low now does not mean I'll run out and get me a Ford King Ranch pick up and throw caution to the wind. It just about ebbs and flows. Saw locally Acura ZDX with less then 500 miles on it, a 2024 selling for 36k. It has an MSRP of 70k. Wife and I are empty nesters but still working but don't drive a whole lot anymore. about 22k miles on two vehicles per year aggregate.
Thing is I really like my LS500!!!!!!

Default Mirai

I suppose there are enuff sales in these countries to justify making it:
  • Japan: The primary market for the Mirai.
  • United States: Concentrated in California due to refueling availability.
  • Canada: Available in British Columbia and Quebec.
  • Europe: Sold in countries including Germany, UK, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
  • I like the styling, hope it stays around a few more years.
