Alright. So I got it installed. Got a check engine light. I checked everything. Good. Check engine light. It ended up being the obdii connection. I removed that and everything was clear. Went for a drive. Whoa. I thought it was fast before, but now the thing hauls something serious.
So can you adjust the boost with this thing?
If so, then how much boost can a stock LS500 stand?
I had a manual boost controller on a Mazdaspeed Miata, a little **** under the hood that was easy to operate and hold boost within a safe level.
Pardon me for asking dumb questions, but I’m sort of a novice with boosted vehicles.

It is set up by maps. It comes on map 1. Trust me. That's more than enough power. Feels as strong as my 11 second talon did. I'd say it's for sure deep in the 12 second range for 1/4 mile et if I test it. Map 1 adds about 4 pounds of boost. Yes you can change maps. But map 1 for me on 93 octane feels great. It's powerful.

I'm curious how it will hold up, I would look into this but I want to see your real world driving after a couple months, and hopefully you can check back in with us on an update of how everything is working.

There is no reason for it not to hold up. It drives exactly the same.. Just more power when I want It. There is a guy on here that's had his for a while. No issues. I researched it for a year. I wouldn't have installed it if I felt the car couldn't handle it. Just have to be sensible about it. A car can break completely stock. Just depends on how you treat it. But I will say this too. Anyone that is concerned with bumping the power up on any vehicle just shouldn't do it. I seek out ways to do it. Lol.

Awesome!! I installed mine yesterday as well. where did you run the OBD cable through?

I just ran it the way they showed in the guide. The obd connection gave me check engine so I disconnected it for now. I will look into it when I decide to add the Bluetooth. Right now I'm just enjoying it on the preset map 1. The car moves hard. I'm guessing 75hp or more at the crank.

Just wondering, has any LS500 owner w/ JB4 taken their car into a Lexus dealer for service. If so, did the service dept. have any comments about it?

I have with another car. They aren't looking for that during normal service. If you install it correctly it actually looks like it belongs there. If you need something fixed and you're concerned about warranty, then clear the codes, and perhaps remove the unit also. They don't even remove the covers from the engine to change oil. If there is a concern about warranty I would say don't do it. I'm willing to take that chance. But I always have. Maybe ask this question to the Tundra guys. More of them have been willing to do this. I know I'm going to be one of the few that wants more power from a LS, but that's always how I've been with most cars.
Did some research on this, a plug and play device, that can be tweaked for less or more power, that could add 60-75hp on stage/map one, it's about $550 and plug and play.

This is actually very cool.
Just a heads up. It's highly recommended to purchase the wifi device as well. This will give you a lot more flexibility with settings and updates.

After talking to Terry at Burger I decided to give connecting the obd another shot, as I mentioned it gave me check engine so I unplugged the obd and the light disappeared. This was during initial install.
Today I popped the hood before locking the doors so everything would go to sleep. Came out 20 minutes later, opened the hood and plugged it into the jb4. This time I hit the button for starting the engine, but without pushing the brake pedal so the ECU would come on to have time to sync. After 10 or more seconds I started the engine. Great! No check engine light. I took the car for a drive. I noticed that the power was more smooth than before the obd connection and the power is more consistent.
“This time I hit the button for starting the engine, but without pushing the brake pedal so the ECU would come on to have time to sync”
I never heard of such. Under normal conditions, is there ever any point in doing this?
Yes. If you go straight to starting the engine the jb4 comes in after the fact of the engine running. ECU sees something strange and throws up check engine light. It worked. That what I was instructed to do.
I got my JB4 installed and confirmed by Terry. The installation instructions have different colors, and my JB4 has WiFi installed. I ran a few WOT pulls but only got around 14 psi. I’m not sure what the max stock boost is—assuming around 12 psi max?
