Default LS430 vs LS500

We just got our LS430 back from the shop today, new KYB struts, rides lots better than our LS500.
Both are great cars.

As for the LS500 never being a rip roaring sales success, to the average old non-car person buyer it bears too much resemblance to the ES. Most buyers cant even pick the LS out of a line up on the dealer’s lot without looking at the window sticker.

All those luxo-sedans Nalod mentioned are 4 wheeled junks. Bucket of bolts. Lexus made the only truly luxury sedan worth writing a check for except for maybe an MB S580. Then you're stuck with the carrying costs of that ride. But who wants to write a fat check for that ride?

The SUV trend is a scourge. An absolute scourge.

Yep, you want a station wagon, then get you an SUV.
Guess I’ll just stick with my two LSs. My neighbors all drive little white SUVs. They think we are weird, but loaded, driving them big sedans.
I might could consider an ES500 after the LS is gone, but only if Lexus would do a major interior upgrade.

Well said. I owned a 2022 ES 350. Can't stand the torque steer with the V6 but couldn't bring myself to buy an all-wheel drive hybrid version, hence the LS. Tokyo Auto show is in the next few months. I'm hoping Lexus will provide another option to sticking with the brand but they're making it very difficult at this point.

Feel the same. I guess their direction is to build something for the next generation of buyers. But seriously, most buyers these days don't really know car much. Car makers are all building a big box with wheels, no design elements other than copy and paste whatever is selling well in the market. Lexus falls into that category in recent years. How can they use the same bin parts from Toyota, or ES into the LS. I don't get it. Maybe I am too old...
Anyway, sad to see the LS name disappear after 2026.
