Default Air suspension

Is it normal for a 2022 Lexus LS500 to make a rattling noise when the car lowers?

I have a 2023 and it makes very little noise when it lowers. It’s hard to even know when it does it. There is a very soft mechanical clicking sound but I wouldn’t call it a rattle. If I am inside the car I can’t hear it at all. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I wish I could post a video so it could be heard. The car is under warranty and the lady at Lexus is telling me she checked another LS500 and it made the same sound. I know she weren't being truthful because the dealership here didn't have any LS during that time.

It may be time to channel your inner Karen in a respectful way. Be sure you are talking with the service manager and if it were me I’d ask to hear this other LS. You have a very expensive vehicle with very expensive suspension and it should not be rattling. If you live in an area that has more than one dealership you might want to get a second opinion.

Probably nothing. It's going to make some noise. Things are moving.

I disagree. It's an indication that something isn't right. My 2020 makes no noise other than the pump when traversing the 1" between high and low.

Every car doesn't sound exactly the same. If the Lexus shop told him it's okay and he doesn't believe them, I guess go to a mom and pop shop and see what they say. Mine is a 2022. It makes some noise, and I know for a fact it isn't broken. Not a terrible noise, but some.

What we are missing is a video of the noise. Without it, everything is speculation.

It's not hard to do. Get out of the car, start recording and lock the doors. The car will start lowering. Lol.

EU-version:
The car will NOT lower itself when standing still, only while driving. (safety, something or someone can get stuck under the car.)
The car will only raise itself about 1 inch when you touch the doorhandles.

I asume TS hears a sound while the car is raising, not lowering? I hear mine too. (sometimes)

I posted the video on YouTube and uploaded the link. For some reason I couldn't post the video attachment in my first post.
