Greetings. Had quite a few Lexus in my day. Considering coming back to the brand. Does anyone have the Premium sound system instead of the ML? If so, what are your thoughts. I always considered anything less than a ML system a deal breaker, but at my age and hearing, I'm not sure that's an issue. But I would like to know your thoughts on the Premium sound. Everything else, short of the HUD is there, or so it seems at first glance. Thanks, Ron

My RX350 with Premium sound (not ML) system sounds great to me but I have to EQ little on the bass and treble. The ML that I tested have more clarity in the mid, but you must use flac or wav to feel the differences. mp3 and radio is the same to me.

I had the ML in my GS which was amazing, I have the premium system in my LS now, it's definitely sufficient. Of course, I would chose the ML with the bass that bumps nice, but premium is no slouch.

Since you are posting in the LS500 forum, I'm assuming you are asking about the relative difference in this specific model. There is a bigger difference between the ML and the base systems in the flagship LS (as compared w/ other models). The ML in this model is designed to be an 'audiophile' setup (clarity and accuracy of sound) and as you'll read though out the LS500 forums, it's a pretty great option. My 2cents is there is no reason to settle for the base system when you have the budget for the flagship unless you just rarely use the stereo. You'll enjoy it and it's worth the money.

Thanks for all the posts. I know the ML is the best system for the car. I've just begun my search so I'll look for the ML system if possible. Thanks!

I came from a 2020 GS with ML and it was quite good. The ML in my 2019 LS500 is at another level and to me sets the ambiance of this car.
Its does not have bombastic bass but that also depends one recording. My take is the ML is designed for accurate reproduction the does not induce listening fatigue.

Sound is subjective. So one persons preference is not the same as another. Audio reproduction is very important to me and Im very happy with the ML in my LS.
I would think the base system is more than adequate and if the car is what you want at the right price then that matters also!
