Just returned from 2,000 mile round trip from AR to CO and back. Our son met up with us, rented a MACH E, standard low hp model. It’s surprisingly big and roomy and torquey, but boring, has cheap interior, lots of tire noise, rough ride compared to our Lexus. Range anxiety is of course the biggest drawback. Maybe the GT would be a little more inspiring.
The MACH E was a big disappointment compared to our LS500. I spent 10 hours straight in the Lexus each way, stopping only 3-4 times for gas and/or to let our Frenchie take a break. So I burned a lot of 91 octane @ 24mpg, but was comfortable and relaxed after hours on the road.
I think we could live with the EV as a town car and for short round trips less than 200 miles, charging only at home.
Meanwhile, give me the big comfortable, quiet Lexus for road trips.
The Mach-E is a very stiff and sporty SUV, so it makes sense that it's not going to be anywhere near as comfortable for highway driving.
It ain’t very sporty. Porky is a better description.
I drove Miatas for 20 years.

In the words of Colin Chapman: Adding horsepower make you faster in the straights.
Subtracting weight makes you faster in the curves.
To be fair, I haven driven the Mach E GT, but the standard Mach E isn’t a very inspiring ride.
