Thanks for your comments on my earlier post about how I test drove the LS500 coming from a GS F. I am still keeping my GS F 100% but helping my parents with the purchase of a new LS500 for them to upgrade their 1990 LS400. We plan to take delivery of a new 2023 LS500 next week, pictures to come!
What are the 3 buttons next to the brake hold button (image attached)? One is blank, the other appears to be a camera control maybe for 360 or front camera, and the third looks like a seat to me but unsure the purpose. I searched the forum for info on the blank button and couldn't find it. Wondering if it is related to the hybrid or a model with the luxury and/or executive package. Thanks!
Even the owner's manual shows it blank. Maybe it's something for a different market, like another country.
Side note, if they are going from a 1990 LS to a 2023 LS, it may seem like a spaceship to them.
Just tell them to be patient learning the new technology. Since it's so completely different. Also make sure they have a smart phone, iPhone or Android. It's pretty much required with the new Interface system.
@offroad200 Thanks for the quick reply. Good to know we aren't missing out on some cool feature haha. Though it's always annoying having a blank button!
It will definitely be like a spaceship. Even my '17 GS F is gonna feel dated I think haha. Thanks again!

The blank button is probably for a feature you did not get like adjustable ride height if you had air suspension.
The 2nd button is indeed for the 360 Panoramic view camera.
The 3rd button is for your seat environment controls. i.e. adjustments, heat/cool, massage if equipped.
@sprtent Nice catch! Is that even an option in the US? I don't remember seeing that online. Well at least it's nothing important haha -- we can park it...
The HUD on/off button is to the left of the steering column on my 2018 LS 500.
So is the 360 Panoramic view camera on mine, but this button is in the center over the ML on the 2023 shown so was not sure what else might the blank allocated for.
But now we know.
I thing about the ls430 (maybe ls400 too?): It had wood trim covers that matched your options. Mostly ultra-luxury vs modern-luxury. No cut-outs for unused height switches, ais suspension, etc. Blanks in a 6 figure car just reeks of cost cutting or lack of attention to a true luxury experience. I even notice when a 38k Honda Accord has just one seatback pocket and feels flimsy in places. In an 80k+ car you gotta wonder. Lexus is not alone in this, and some buttons on some cars that are integrated in well can look fine empty, especially haptic touch type... but this just looks cheap to me. Surprised no one mentioned that. I'm not in market for one but do occasionally check in. Glad many people are happy with the 500. I do like the G90 (different post) but not sure I trust Hyundai after too many people I know have had problems long-term. Still driving my 2005 ls430 for now! Imperfect but wonderful.
