Re-read it. Most recent sales are at the top. 2,200 LS sedans are sold annually in the U.S.. That's not enough to support any investment.

The investment of a new platform and perhaps a drivetrain that competes.
LC and LS on same platform.

Crown sedan and Crown Signa on same platform and interior. I can see were the LS becomes a 5 door and a sedan if it returns. S Class, BMW and Audi flagships sell well in Europe and China . LS not so.

LX sales assume are far better than LS. Are LS buyers staying in Lexus or moving out? They went younger, did that help?
Not like Acura and Infiniti sell flagships or even try. LS sold for over a third of a Century, thats really pretty darn good. Pontiac, Olds, Buick,, Saab, Imperial (Chrysler is ****), are all gone. Mercury is gone. Lincoln does not sell sedans. Caddilac does not have flagship sedan. GS is gone. Things change.

What is the platform? Flagship EV does not appeal to me or my habits. I could do secondary vehicle and that might be were we go.
Hybrid is a nice compromise but performance given the weight makes it difficult.
All the above adds up to indecision. They are making the car but I gather don't expect much.

I generally don't like leaving Car Chat to rain on people's parades on the owner subforums, but the reality is that the LS is on its way out to be replaced by the Century SUV, which is now being sold at Lexus dealerships in other countries outside the US. Soon you'll be seeing the Century SUV on US soil to outright replace the LS as Lexus's flagship, just like how the Crown replaced the Avalon as Toyota's flagship.

The weakness of the LS (and Lexus as a brand in general) is that it's a product that was always designed for the North American market first and foremost; LS sales in the US are supposed to be the pillar of its existence. This is in stark contrast to other flagship sedans where the US is just a small afterthought compared to their own home markets (and China, though that's changing very quickly) and the vehicles are brought here mainly for brand image, not volume sales. It says a lot about the LS when it only sold 2000 units last year in Japan whereas the Genesis G90 sold 12,000 units alone in South Korea. All the LS sold globally in 2023 don't even add up to half the amount of G90's sold its own home country.

With the complete lack of updates for its own 35th anniversary, the writing is on the wall for the LS.

Doesn't sound like I'm the one who needs moving on... I'll wait until you have a coherent response that can rebut a single word I've written.

What you're saying makes sense the only reason for Lexus to keep the LS in production is prestige and tradition financially it's a bad proposition.

If all you're going to respond with is "nonsense" you're not adding anything of value to the conversation.

Precisely - and ironically they could still sell "prestige and tradition" with the Century nameplate because it's been around longer than Lexus. For the most part, Toyota is a very pragmatic company.

Let’s keep responses in this thread polite and mature please or don’t post.

Just that statement alone with your intent is a good way to get your access restricted to owner subforums…. We allow more latitude in car chat, but be aware repeated brand trolling in the model forums will quickly get access removed. This is a place for owners of these Lexus vehicles.
