how are you all getting great mileage on your rotors and pads, I've had to replace my rotors and pads 3 times in the past 4 years. My LS has the sport package with brembo calipers. Theres always, ALWAYS dust! Someone please halp.

I feel your pain, I replaced my front pads/rotors using OEM rotors and Akebono pads barely 2 years ago, and my rotors are already severely warped big time. I don’t think I even put 20,000 miles on em neither. When I brake, the steering wheel shimmy’s pretty bad now. I clearly remember when I first installed them, how smooth the car drove and braked. No vibrations at all.

I do drive on hilly roads, so I contribute some of the excessive wear based off that, but at the same time, it’s still not normal for the brakes to already be shot in such a short amount of time.

It was a pain to find a set, but I have slotted EBC rotors and redstuff pads on my LS after the last set warped. I've used EBC brakes on vehicles in the past, my previous daily driver being a 500hp Audi A6. I've got probably 25-30k on the EBC rotors on the LS now without any warping or issues!

Default Best brakes for the money.

Thanks.

Hands down. These rotors & pads last multiple yrs depending how aggressively you use them. I got 4 years from this set.

I’ll have to look into the those EBC brakes. My warped rotors is even starting to effect the my normal driving experience at highway speeds. The steering wheel has a slight shimmy without even braking. I had my tires rotated and balanced recently and the shimmy is still there.

I remember having this same exact issue when the previous rotors warped, it caused a slight shaking on the steering wheel and minor vibrations. After replacing the old rotors and pads, the shaking and shimmy completely disappeared. So I know for sure it’s the rotors.

I personally don’t like slotted and drilled rotors unless on a sports car, I had some on my 17 Impala, and it made a bunch of noise when braking and had vibrations. They sure do look nice tho.

Default Sorry about your experience

The R1 gave me none of those symptoms. Whether I'm in Luxury mode or Sport mode. I've never had pads & rotors that out last 2 sets of tires & can still slow my 460 down quickly, smoothly & efficiently at 130 mph. I run "W" rated tires. Governor removed & Dyno tuned to where she'll run ever bit of 152 mph. I gotta have extra stopping power & the R1 does just as good as Brembo but for less money.

Absolutely not. The 460 is known to warp the hell out of the OE rotors

It will do 168 on GPS limiter removed at 71* ambient and 42% humidity at Columbus OH elevation

I bought these TRQ front rotor/pad set and have been happy with them. I paid $161 but now is only $123. I took it to a local shop who installed it in a few hours for $120 labor. Very quiet and smooth:

Yeah, the dealer I got my car from put some AutoZone cheapo brakes on there that warped within a few months. I live in the Rocky mountains, and have slotted (not drilled) rotors on it. They're quiet under normal driving but when they get hot they retain a good bite, a little vibration under sustained heavy braking but a noticable increase in braking power with the new pads + rotors.

R1 concepts are good as well!

I'm doing my brakes now getting ready for summer, went with PowerStop rotors and pads Z26 on the front and Z23 for the rear. I put Z23's and rotors on my corolla and at first I thought they were junk but they've done really well in the almost a year on the car. The 460's quite abit heavier than the corolla so I will reserve my opinion for now but the original fr pads and rotors were starting to look tired so it had to be done.
