If it's just needing a new rotor and pads, an indy shop is fine. But that doesn't cause ABS warning light to come on. Why didn't dealer do a diagnostic? Did you say no to diagnostic because there's a fee? Like GERF says, get the OBD2 diagnostic codes before assuming it's just the rotor. Usually, when a Lexus rotor is bad, it's warped and it just gets replaced by a new one. They are thin and won't have enough material left to turn down. As OEM rotors are know to be inferior and easily warped, many here recommend Centric rotors from Rock Auto. Change both if one is bad. Akebono pads are very popular as well. Low dust.
There is a 10 year extended warranty on the actuator/pump based on in-service date. I would get to Lexus pronto to see if your car is covered (if in fact that's the problem.)
I had the same message on my '11; it was the actuator/pump and Lexus took care of it. That was in 2019.

Is there a website I can check to see if there’s an extended warranty on the brake actuator and on any other parts in general ? I am new and this is my first Lexus . I haven’t had the vehicle a week yet !
You really need to get to a dealer asap. You are going to feel pretty bad if you are told you missed the extended warranty by a couple of days.
Pink1, I hope that your "in service date"/sold date, is after Nov 1, 2012. That way, if it is the ABS system malfunctioning, you're covered. You came here for help and guidance: go to Lexus dealer right away and get the issue diagnosed. No matter what, it's repairable and you'll have a great car. Lexus IS recommended because of the possibility of warranty. If your car was sold before Oct of 2012, warranty is a moot point. On this forum, it's known that dealer repairs are the most expensive and not necessarily done by the best experts. Toyota is usually less money. Next would be independent specialty shops for Japanese cars. Their rates can be higher or lower, ask first. What's important to understand is that most systems in Lexus require specialized computer equipment that is Lexus/Toyota specific. Most shops can do brake jobs (pads and rotors) but not the actuator/pump system.
Get that diagnosis and report back here promptly if you'd like more guidance. Best of luck.
go to drivers.lexus.com and create an account. Enter your VIN, then a history of dealer service should be available to view including original sold date. This info can be very helpful now and in the future. How many miles on your 2012? Is it AWD, does it have air shocks/suspension, have the control arms ever been replaced? This will be on the website.
