Default Does my LS have VGRS?

Title says it all. How can you tell if an LS460 is equipped with VGRS?

Somehow a search turned up nothing useful. Pretty sure I don't suck at using the ole www that much...

Would it have it's own separate line item on the window sticker?

Sooo it's only on LWB and/or air cars?

How would you know if the option was checked on a SWB non-air car(if that's possible)?

Did someone state it's only on LWB? I think you jumped to an incorrect conclusion. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Call Lexus customer service 800 number, bet they can answer some of your questions.

No conclusion jumping, hence the question mark.

I'd have some serious doubts a random Lexus call center rep is gonna have any idea about specific options from a 14 year old model, but maybe I'm not giving them enough credit.

Maybe I'm spoiled coming from Subaru and Porsche forums, but oof this place is rough...

Pretty easy to notice. VGRS turns the wheels much farther out of straight than the same steering wheel turns did in the middle position.

i doubt if any racing car has VGRS

https://www.lexus.com/content/dam/le...S-Brochure.pdf

Air cars all have VGRS, some 07-12 460Ls have it even without air, and all LS600s do. Above has a breakdown near the end but this is for refresh cars

You don't have it then. It will show up on the sticker if you have it but a base SWB coil sprung 08 will not have it

Excellent, thanks! Now we're getting somewhere. I had seen the c&d article but it's still super vague.
It's crazy there's not a more comprehensive list anywhere of what models/options did/didn't have the VGRS since there seems to be a decent amount of EPS related issues with the early cars.

Is the only way to really know for sure the window sticker, or look under the passenger footwell for the VGRS module?

In my other thread I'm working on troubleshooting an EPS failure and multiple people mention VGRS as an issue, and yet my trim doesn't even have it

Give us a VIN and/or run it for the equipment list, it will show it for sure but I am 99.9% sure you don't have it.

Even more confusing the VGRS computer shows fitment on Base models and doesn't mention w/ or w/out air.
https://www.mylparts.com/oem-parts/l...bC12OC1nYXM%3D

and there aren't separate part numbers for steering racks w/ and w/out VGRS which seems odd too.
on second look there are different racks for w/ air and w/out sport package, and w/air and w/sport package, maybe that's how they differentiate which racks are equipped with VGRS without explicitly stating it...

Yeah I ran the VIN through the decoder (that's the best place right?) here a while back and it doesn't show anything mentioning VGRS.
It does show a line item for steering ratio as being 11.6-16.6 which threw me off. Is the base rack still variable in the ratio, but the VGRS system is a more sophisticated version?

Since it's not on the window sticker, and I don't have the ECU for it under the passenger side footwell I'm confident my 08 doesn't have it either, but it'd probably be helpful for the future if there was a definitive way to know one way or the other.

All LSs are considered "base" unless they are F-sports or LS600s since all the options are packages not trim levels
