Default Another step into The Night(view)

Hello boys and girls. After a rather long winter hiatus I'm at _IT_ again.
So, brought you some world's first exclusive pics.
Currently I have not installed the modded 3-eye camera and new cam cover (got everything here), nor routed final wires cam->ecu. I also need to hook up that gvif cable to my dash and you all know how fiddly and frustrating messing with dash is. Nevermind. Today I got the ECU to connect to CAN, then used Techstream.
Following is the first account. Remember - Night View was never ever released outside Japan before 12+ remodel. Basically couple of dedicated days and I'm there.
Enjoy. (also answered my question - is there even non-jap language nightview signage and so forth inside the dash - Y A S!)

DTC page for NV

Initial display at IGN ON (no cam connected)

Layout of gods. of A God. of THE GOD

Some active tests via techstream

Active test 2

Active test 3

Now feast, feast my lovelies!
Next step for me - making a harness and trying to run cam on a bench. Then - modding overhead module's pcb to repurpose SOS button (useless anyway since dcm telematics are kaput) to toggle Night VISION (!) on and off. F I have goosebumps every time I think 'NIGHT VISION! IN MY LS!'

Haha, nice one. Although I had my fair share of that cumbersome 'setup' a while ago when I was serving.

How is your neck? What unit did you guys use over there? I'm in the US so I have easy access (I can just buy it normally) to unfilmed Gen3 WP tubes

Further progress. Routed wire from glovebox (nv ecu) to the dash. It was rather easy - there's access to dash's blue gvif socket without unscrewing it. Lower cowl off and it's fiddly but doable.

New pic - doing Utility->Manual camera adjust. I still have no cam connected but just wanted to test if the GVIF link is up. It bloody is. Yas. Pedestrian detection reticle is applied by ecu (not dash) and sent via gvif video link.

Relentless for sure! That's the kind of burning motivation we could all use in our lives though.

Okay, little interim update here. I've managed to source cam cover from 10-12, it will accommodate lka+nv cam nicely, will just have to dremel out a window for nv (easy, factory contour marks).
Thing is, I ordered one easily via parts.lexus but it got stranded in transit... I went back to get another one - it's now discontinued across everywhere. Had to use dealer network to order _last one ever in existence_ (not my words). So I got last two covers ever (well, backorder still works with timeframe 180/350days) in existence. Hoarding eh haha.
But it's the final piece. It's coming.

Oh yas, good times. It's finally here. And after some careful dremeling I now posses an unique part - 10-12 cam cover with extra NVcam opening.
Extra props to Wesley Chapel Lexus for sourcing this gem.
Final install is imminent!

Great progress here. It's a pleasure following someone who's detail oriented and getting a dream option in place.

Not something I would do to my car but I do appreciate the skill and persistence.

I'm doing it right now. Roof cut added, 3-eye cam installed, cover in, handmade harness routed via right pillar to the glovebox. Looks great. LKA recalibrated to pair new cam, all good, no problems.
Little tea break and I'll add needed pins, solder, shrink wrap, shrink wrap again for good measure and close the patient. Then be back.

And it's done. It's too dark outside to perform proper NV calibration (with tripod, target, etc), so I just selected 'manual adjust' and clicked next several times. And lo and behold. 'Cam not initialized' DTC went away and it started working.
Off to test drive, will try to take some sizzling pics.
Phew. One and only. So cool. So feisty.
