air suspension
any experience with "Airsusfat" https://www.ebay.com/itm/17447597090...QAAOSwkGhhEKQc ?
In general, Chinese auto parts are considered to be of question quality. Especially when electronics are involved. IMHO, there is a large amount of labor involved in replacing air shocks. Even with a 2 year warranty, I'd prefer to pay several hundred more for known quality build, knowing it's unlikely I have to pay or perform labor again. My opinion is based upon multiple threads on this forum over several years. There are a few mechanics here and they recommend OEM, even low mileage used OEM. If you find someone posting about using off brands, be sure to ask how long ago the part was replaced. 6 months to a year is no true indication of reliability. I've seen many posts that state failure after 2-3 years. Many of the aftermarket parts have only been available 4 years or less. Not enough to give a true picture. If you're planning on keeping your car, that's not a sensible option.
Amayama, direct from Japan offers a large savings on OEM.

Lay off that fat. Those look like remans. I never encountered quality LS air strut remaned. Chinese just don't get, don't understand, that cars can be heavy because made out of real steel, not tinfoil, etc. So those usually fail within first 2 month if not weeks.

Amayama has really good prices. They are legit?
So just because its made in China is no longer an accurate assumption. My DJI is built like nothing I'v seen before.
It is true they use thin steel on some stuff.
So when I look here on this site I have a hard time finding reports of very many bad aftermarket remanufactured. But what people say here does concern me. Right now lasting 2 years (especially on fronts since they are so easy to replace) is expectable considering I drive so little and that time could be extended but it comes down to ride comfort compared to oem. Used just seems like a bad way to go, unless you do them yourself.
Right now only my right front side bounces when you push on fender. I'm tempted to buy an OEM but need to figure out if that is the only strut that is bad. I can feel road imperfections but what is worse is when I go over a bump and I can feel it right through the seat, da *****.
So my plan was to replace the right from with oem and see if it clears things up. If that doesnt work I would then convert to full springs all around. Or I could skip the oem new strut and spend that money on the spring setup. I see air is a little smoother ride but it doesnt seem enough to constitute the air suspension (for me). My rears were replaced 35k ago with oem.
What do you guys think?

Cool thanks guys. Wow that spring kit is a lot. That lexus dealership wanted over 2 grand. I cant thank enough the person who mentioned amayama, just ordered a front one from them, 800 a piece basically. Twice the price of airsusfat. Considering my rears are done its a worth while investment, oem.
Its funny out of all the air suspension Lexus has the best. Its a flawed system I know. I'd be happy to get 60-80 out of them. But I'v heard its time too as rubber wears out. Thats also a concern I had from even buying from lexus, what stock and how old is it they are selling? Its one reason I thought about remanufactured, new rubber.

Almost as funny as when people want to supercharge a LS, like that wouldn't be a recipe for failure.
I definitely don't think all Chinese auto parts are junk imho. I used ball joints, control arms, fuel pump all from China and worked amazing.
Of course most people think this is a bad idea. Much like the Lexus you put a lot of money into it so invest. But name brand stuff like Moog have a lot of their parts made there.
Were just at such a point in globalization that that country produces almost everything it seems. Like the cheep motors everyone gets from there to fix their power locks.
I wouldn't want to go to all that trouble for a part to fail.
But ultimately since I found the oem for 800 bucks about I went with that. But a large part of that decision was made on what you all said. I'm still interested in the remanufactured.
