Another LS Speaker upgrade Post!!
Great day!
I have recently replaced my stock stereo in my base LS460 and put in an android tesla style headunit. This lead to me upgrading all the speakers in my LS as well. This has lead me to "work with" the owner of Pheonix Automotive on redesigning these units and taking y'alls feedback to him, so let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You can read about the Saga mostly on this post.

The replacement speakers were basic Diamond audio 3 ways with a subwoofer. The problem now is in my 2008 LS460L the speakers sound better then the Mark Levinson system.
I am thinking of upgrading/replacing all the speakers/amp/sub in my Mark Levinson system.
Has anyone done this?
What speakers did you use?
I was thinking of using Mid Grade Focal "access" line 3-way components 6.5"/4"/1" in front door as well as back door with 4" on back wall and fiberglassing one of the trunk corners for a sub box. I probably use a JL Audio 6 channel amplifier to replace the factory.
Thoughts?
Ideas?
Concerns?
This car has low miles under 100k and I have an "outside" sales job where I spend a lot of time in the car driving several hours each way a day sometimes to see clients. I also have plenty of time and resources for a project like this should be no problem.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes, for me it was. first I got the Android "tesla style" screen from Phoenix which they should be releasing an updated one in a couple months, then I did the speakers.
These are the speakers I used in front then adding the matching 2 way component in back.

Sound cleaner crisper just all around better

Thanks for the update! I have the Levinson system and think it sounds great for many styles. What it isn't great for is pummeling the listener with volume or bass (which I assume is because that is not what it was designed to do).
I wouldn't be inclined to replace the speakers in that system unless you really don't like it. I'd be surprised if it made a notable improvement in sound, and you run the risk of throwing off the sonic balance programmed into the factory system. IOW, it seems like the potential downside outweighs the potential upside. But, I haven't tried it and don't know anyone who has, so I make no claim as to expertise on that subject.
One thing I was thinking of doing was adding either a powered sub or a separate amp and sub so I can get more bass when I want it. But I would want it to be independently adjustable for volume and maybe crossover frequency. I don't want big, boomy bass, I just want the bass guitar and kick drum to hit a little harder for rock and metal styles while not overpowering things for the quieter music.
