Cheap Bulbs or Bigger Issue?
Hey y’all first post here cause I’m a little confused.
I recently obtained an 07 460 at 108k
First issue I’ve had was the stock driver side headlight started going out intermittently. So, I ordered some cheap bulbs from Amazon and started new by replacing both.
Bout 2 weeks later driver side goes out again.
At this point I’m reading into it as well as thinking it’s the ballast. So to get by for the mean time since I drive a lot at night I kept the Amazon bulb on the passenger side (not the problem side) and replaced the drivers side with the old passenger side STOCK bulb.
Well, 2 nights ago.. the PASSENGER side (Amazon bulb) went out.
So is it safe to assume that I just had bad Chinese bulbs and not the ballast?
I’m assuming I’m correct just would like everyone’s input, thank you!

Lots of low quality Chinese products out there. Amazon's compatibility selector isn't always going to be correct. Exterior lighting is critical as well as a top reason for police to pull drivers over. Also these cars are highly sophisticated, even basic systems can act up with an incorrect voltage or load. A good way to sometimes save money is to buy from Toyota instead of Lexus if the part number is the same. Also, upgrading bulbs from incandescent to led can be tricky. Do a search on this forum before making any changes.
