So along with fixing an exterior trim piece today i went ahead and took out the glove compartment to see how bad i was screwed with that blend door thing for the AC.
I had gotten the Lex about 2 months ago and when i read about the cabin air filter "issue" i knew i had it before i even needed to replace it lol
So...
THANKFULLY the arm just separated out of the joint.
I carefully re-attached the arm, double checked that the door worked and replaced the filter. Smooth like Keith Stone.
Thanks to this site I was able to diagnose the issue!
What is the usual "ISSUE" that you are talking about with the cabin air filter??
Probably the issue that can happen if people change the cabin air filter without following the correct procedure to get the blend door out of the way first.

Every time you turn on the car, it reset to 75, never keeps the same temp. That is normally the sign of it. I had the issue on my 2007. About 2 hours to pull the dash apart (there is a DIY on it, very easy, just take your time), popped it back on all fixed..
