KYB front shocks too soft
My suspension was checked over recently when I had it in for an alignment. It was found that the front KYB shocks I replaced just over a year and under 15k miles ago allow too much jounce. The rear seems to be working like it's supposed to. No other issues with the suspension were found. I kind of think they might have been soft right from the start. The front has ridden a bit weird since they were installed (no real experience with this car before the KYBs were installed).
Is this normal KYB operation?

I'm getting about 3 bounces when you bounce and let it go.

I'm wondering if there was a mispackaged or bad batch.
On a similar note, now that I see this post. I just got my 4 Gas A Justs from Rock Auto today, shipped to a friend in the next county because of some new tax rules or something that creates a lot of work for Rock Auto, so they no longer ship to certain counties in Colorado.
Is there a way to check new shocks before you put them in?

This is my first LS460 2007 and I got it with 150k on it, so I have put 20k on it. I am not even sure what to expect when I replace the shocks as far as feel goes. But I'll be happy when the clunk in rear shock goes away. I'll be replacing at least the lower, main control arms on the front end as well. 48640-50131, 48620-50131 A little wobbling in the steering when I brake sent me in to my mechanic to find the lower, main bushing was pretty bad. They tested the front rotors and they were true. At the very least, I'll do a bounce test before the strut replacement so I have something to compare it to.

2 of my socks blew the second day I had my car (dealer reimbursed me for it). I'm curious how a LS should ride. Between the shocks, poor assignment and wheel balance (trusted a local shop with a good reputation and on all accounts stopped using them for failing to do basic work correctly), actual bent wheels (again, shop failed to diagnose when I asked them specifically what could be causing vibrations), and out of round tires I don't think my car has ridden properly since I bought it. I'm still working through getting things fixed.
Sounds really familiar. Gotta say I'm just not enjoying this car yet. I'm trying.
