Lexus says it needs $8K of work for Upper Control Arms, Engine Bushings and a coupling to stop an annoying vibration around 40 and 80 MPH for a couple of seconds. They offered me $3K to trade. How much should I sell it for?
MMR on a standard 2007 460L with 170k is $7300. Average retail is $12,800. Add another 1k for the executive package to both numbers. You should be able to fix that car for substantially less at an indy shop. If the car is solid elsewhere, I'd absolutely fix it.

He knows what he's talking about when it comes to numbers on these cars. You can do all the control arms and engine mounts for less than half of that quote. I don't know what coupling they are taking about to fix the vibration but I would check the condition of the tires and rims to make sure they are balanced correctly and not bent. Also make sure the tires are not at the end of their life. Of course this is if you can do the work your self or know a trustworthy mechanic.

Absolutely agree with this. And it looks like you know better than to take only $3K in a trade. I'd give the car to charity before I did that.
