Default How to test Air suspension control module

Sorry if you have heard my plight with my air suspension.

I have tested actuators with meter nothing wrong

How do I test Height sensors and Control Module?

Does anyone know how to take apart glovebox and access control module to test?

Local referred mechanic just said he couldn't figure it out because it wasn't kicking codes in techstream

Thanks appreciate everyone's help.

What is the problem??

If the mechanic has techstream they should be able to watch the live data on everything.

If you look in the data list you will see the values of the sensors above the height adjust values. You have to go to each wheel and unlock the 2 nuts on the fronts sensors then turn the middle nut which will move the values up or down depending on which way you turn the rod. The 2 outside nuts are jam nuts that keep the rod from turning. The back sensors have 1 nut that is attached to the bracket that you loosen, then you move those sensors up or down. Up is to lower and down raises. All the nuts are 10mm. If you want to check the resistance of any of the sensors you have to remove them from the car and use a multimeter just like you did for the actuators.

One more thing, the car has to be on level ground if you want to adjust them but I would caution you to be careful. When you adjust 1 sensor then it makes the other sensors try to adjust themselves and you can really messed up your ride height at each wheel. Then you have to do a height offset calibration. I know this because I've been there, done that. If your satisfied with the ride height DON'T fool with the sensors. You can bounce the car at each corner and watch techstream to see if things change. Also you can remove them from the car without messing with the height. Just unbolt the brackets there are 2 bolts at the body and 1 bolt on the control arms. This way you can check that the ohms are within spec. I don't think the sensors are your issue but you never know.

I've done all the things that you are attempting to do but in my case I just recently got a hard code for the right front actuator. I purchased a new one and even swapped sides and the issue is still there. My next step is to test the connections at the suspension ECU. If those check out I will purchase a strut for that side as there will be nothing left to check.

My issue is that the PCS invalid message has been constantly going on and off for that past couple of months. I've checked Everything since no codes were being output. At the same time while trying to figure out the issue I started messing with the height settings which made things worse because it took me a while to correct it which wasted lots of time. I also noticed my suspension was not dampening anymore which is directly related to the actuators. Up until last week I had no code to lead ME in the correct direction but now I do.

I forget what is your original issue? Your all over the place asking questions but I understand.

Thanks for the input....

I took it to a guy where I used to live 3 hours away everyone who flips and works on cars take their electrical problems to him. to pay him to research and see if he can figure out what the problem is. He can chase down the whole electrical system, ecu and sensors and test them to make sure they are working. I don't have the expertise

On techstream it will not allow me to adjust any of the suspension settings, it just doesn't do anything so as far as trying to adjust things in the system, nothing happens. Dampers are set to 17. I reset them to zero go for a ride and they are stuck at 17 again and do not adjust or move at all.

I wish I could actually push on the car and it would move the shocks are stuck at HARD and do not bounce AT ALL.

These bolts...Do these bolts stop the movement? Could the movement be locked because of these bolts stopping the car from bouncing?

The Height button does make the rears go up about an inch but takes 2 mins to increase...

My driveway isn't "level Ground" I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Still doesn't explain why my car is stiff and shocks have ZERO movement no bounce...

"You can bounce the car at each corner"

I WISH!!!

Thanks

They look at the live data and say it says this one is this and that one is that but it doesn't account for the non movement in the shocks or the complete stiffness it drives with.

My LS460 Base with coilovers drives softer then my Air ride LS460L does it's a problem...

I really was looking for a step guide on how to take apart dash to get to Suspension Control Module. I wanted to test it and purchased a used one just to cross that off the crazy list....

So to confirm, you have monitored techstream while driving and no matter if it's comfort, sport, or normal all 4 actuators read 17 at all times?

Do you by any chance happen to work at the Department of Redundancy Department?

HAHAHA

You are sir Hillarious....

When I reply to a message for some reason it doesn't include the original question message so I don't know if the person is getting that I am replying to them...

Once I notice this and try to delete old message to make sure I actually cut and paste it in reply ...it will let me "edit" my old message but not delete it...so I just leave it...

No worries brother, just busting your chops.

To quote just 1 reply, press the ["Quote] icon then type your reply where the curser defaults to (or press the Enter key to move it down a line). To quote more than 1 reply, check the [Multi Quote] icon for each reply you want to quote then also press the ["Quote ] icon for one of those replies that you selected [Multi Quote]. All of the quotes you selected should now be listed in your reply, with each of them boxed in by the code [/QUOTE]. You can then place the cursor under each of those boxed in quotes in order to have your reply under its respective quote.

And if this doesn't confuse you more, I don't know what will. LMAO
