Hi. Local Lexus dealership told me LS 460 sold in the US might not be made in the same factory as the JDM and other market variants.

Does anyone know if the LS 460 were put together anywhere other than Japan?

To be honest I’m mostly interested in the engine. Was the 1UR-FSE made anywhere other than Japan?

Wikipedia says that LS460 always has been assembled in Japan. I believe, Lexus took a pride in LS460 and how and where it is made.

the main reason our cars are assembled, parts procured, and fit and finish are flawless

this separates the LS from all others

 

I'll never comprehend why some dealers (1) are so ill-informed about what they sell and (2) have no qualms about shooting their mouths off sharing bad information.

 

All dealerships lie and make things up on the spot.

 

just want to be clear a good amount of RXs were built in Japan up until 2016. I really want your LS btw.
