Just received a letter today about the recall which expires on 3/31/21. I have some cracks on my dash but it's not sticky. Wondering if anyone had their dash replaced under the recall and if so did they replace it for minor cracks?
Thanks
FWIW, I started this process today. I contacted my service advisor who ran my VIN and let me know that I am eligible.
I showed up and he pulled up a website called sticky dash inspection or something similar and it showed which parts of my interior were covered based on the VIN. My interior is in rough shape and we were shocked to see that my dash wasn't covered, nor were my door panels. My center console and glove compartment were covered. He took a bunch of pictures and is submitting a "good will" claim to corporate.
Lots of reading on the forum already but they replaced my dash in my 2011 that was not sticky at all. Surprised they are still sending out letters. I got my letter in the mail a couple years ago. Most are having their cars inspected just for the possibility of getting replaced. Varies dealer to dealer and how much you push your advisor. My advice is to start at corporate get a case number and have corporate set an appointment for you at your dealer of choice.
Thanks! My dash isn't sticky but some cracks (minor). Just don't want to go in and spend time if they are going to decline the work. I replaced my center arm rest already. Appreciate the info!
I'd definitely try again and push to get it done. My dealer replaced (note - all were really sticky) the Dashboard (top/bottom) the center console surround, the glovebox and all four door panels on my 2008LS. It took 4 trips as each time the parts trickled in I had to schedule an appointment. They didn't replace the armrest but that cushion just goes flat again from what I've read here.
