While I run K&Ns for the engine air, I prefer these for the oil: Amazon.com: Genuine Toyota - 4Runner Oil Filter 1/2 Case (QTY 5) - 04152-YZZA5: Automotive
And if my math is correct, they're an even better deal.

Grab some of these too (or buy from a Lexus dealer). Never re-use an aluminum oil drain plug gasket.

The washer doesn't increase your MPG and neither does a fresh coat of wax, driving mostly downhill or an air freshener hanging from the mirror. It is simply a process with an oil change (Filter, Oil and Washer). It costs far less than 10 percent of the filter so why would you skimp for that price? I mean seriously.. skipping it might earn you an extra half a stack of breath mints for your pez dispenser.
That is up to you. I prefer to follow the manual and replace both the filter and the crush washer. New owners have no idea how long that washer was re-used and it just makes sense to replace it as insurance. Please don't be a jackass for the sake of what used to pay for a local phone call. The salty response isn't warranted or needed in this forum.
Peace out,
Jeffrey

Wow. A crush washer on a drain plug bolt is the very least critical part of any engine. In south America we used the same one for 400,000 +km and all the oil changes and never had an issue. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.
For those that may be interested, I ordered this and installed it during my most recent oil change on 11/23/20. I'll report back next oil change with my findings and thoughts on it.
I ordered black so it would match my tires. <BFG>
Well you certainly crushed it with that answer brother! Back in the day, if we didn't have a new crush washer, we just flipped the old one over and reused it. And like you, we didn't ever have an issue. As you well know, often it's not really a matter of cost so much as it convenience/necessity/availability. ;-)

You could just buy one those small coin magnets and install it on your existing plug. You could use one of this -
