Personally, I don't understand living with components of a great car like this that are performing in a way that make you unhappy. For instance, I replaced the tires on my LS at 380 miles. If I wind up getting this S560 I will immediately replace the runflat tires. I enjoy my car too much to try and drag out the life of a usable component that is bringing the experience of having the vehicle down.

Components on this car are cheap. Brake pads are a couple hundred bucks. Tires are $900.

Yep. tires wear out much faster than brakes. I buy my tires up to a year in advance and store/rotate them in a climate controlled area.

turn off VSC, the LS loves to let go of that back end on a WOT turn

While I totally agree with you that these would be relatively inexpensive fixes, I'm not convinced of the problem. There are other things that concern me and as I said, I'm hopeful to get my car inspected when I take it in in a few weeks for the new fuel pump. That will tell me what I need to know and how to proceed.
