Has anyone replaced their headlight ballast? My left headlight is not working even after replacing the bulb and I am guessing this is the problem. Can someone provide instructions or tell me how much it was to get it replaced.

 

I've done it on a 2007 ES 350. I don't know whether a similar process would be appropriate for an LS 460. It was laborious, and I can understand why a dealer or mechanic could charge a fair bit to do it (at least for a 2007 ES 350 -- I think I was quoted about $1k total a few years ago when I had the issue), even though the price of the ballast could be pretty low.

However, someone found a way to do it without soldering (posts #7 and #11), and I was able to complete the process without any soldering):
