Default Costco tires

Just acquired a 2013 LS 460 SWB air suspension with 19" wheels. Tires will need replacing soon. My situation is low annual miles (5k), driving mostly rough city streets of San Diego (no snow or ice) and likely to switch cars in a few years (just my preference). I've bought tires once in 10 years as I've changed cars so often. Last tires I bought were Michelin MXMV (I liked them)which they stopped making a few years ago. So I'd prefer a frugal buy. Costco has worked well in the past with the combination of convenience, tire price and install price. Currently, Costco offers BF Goodrich g-force comp-2 a/s for $745, Bridgestone Potenza S-04 PP for $870 or Michelin Pilot Sport 3 for $1000. I would consider other brands from elsewhere such as Kumho and a few other 2nd tier brands. Tire rack has tires starting at $600 set plus installation but the BFs from Costco at $745 installed are about the same price point. Basically I'm looking for budget priced tires for the LS. Thanks in advance.

I'll let others weigh in on which tires for the car, but I wanted to say I love TireRack when I'm also buying wheels. Can't beat 'em. But, if you already have wheels, most local shops aren't especially keen on installing tires you bought somewhere else.

PS - what part of San Diego? I lived there for 11 years...

Tires have a huge impact on how these cars ride, I would not go cheap on tires because it will really reduce your enjoyment of the car.

Id recommend the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus II. Tire Rack is great, and they have a slew of local installers you can ship to and have them install.

I just called a preferred installer via Tire Rack. About $93, so those Pirellis would be about $1000 definitely in the reasonable price category.

Well worth it. Not worth saving $200 or so to go with tires that are going to ruin the ride.

Nice! That is awesome. I used to live in a couple places close by--Pringle St and Florida St. (Not to mention I.B., Chula Vista, Mission Hills, Hillcrest, etc.) I miss it sometimes.

Housing has become very expensive but the Pacific breeze is still there.

Can't go wrong with the Pirellis I am on my second set and love them on my LS. I realize they have just released a redesign but I am sure it is still the same ride quality. I got them on tirerack and had them shipped to my home. Put them in the trunk and back seat and had them installed at my local lexus dealer total cost was right at $1k or slightly under including installation and I was happy.

With two respected members who actually used the tires, I feel that a few hundred more than cheaper unknown tires is wise. Thanks.

Mine need tires soon too...does the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus II has a quiet ride and comfort? These two are most important to me. I don't drive fast at all.

By the way, discount tire website does not have the Plus II, just the all season Plus, is it close enough?

Yes, those are my priorities too which is why I like them.

The II is the updated version with better wet traction, the Plus are great tires but I would want the II

I just ordered the #2 version from Tire Rack. Lot's places have the old version only.
