I was wondering, On the ML stereo ,do you use surround sound setting or normal ,I find the normal setting sounds better, A little clearer, What do you think!
I have used surround sound on mine for a couple of years and was happy with it, thinking it was the best sound setting. I never tried with surround (off) until yesterday when I read another post here about the focal point being in the middle on surround, which I noticed and did not particularly like. I am absolutely thrilled with surround off and hear better separation and tone in the music.
I use Tidal hi-res and find the quality of sound even better cable connected rather than blue tooth. Now I just wish the left side play list with album art would not revert back to the Nav screen after a minute or two. Play list stays on the right side, but no album art or enough character width to fully describe the artist, etc.
I'm a 40+ year audiophile with high-end equipment at home (e.g., Martin Logan speakers; Classé Audio amps) and as I've said in previous posts, I find the Mark Levinson system in my 2013 LS quite satisfying. I would not purchase a Lexus without it. I've found that it sounds best with surround turned off. Always feed it with the best source material such as CDs or lossless audio formats or you may find yourself unnecessarily disappointed.

On my 2013 there is setting that can be changed that keeps the album artwork and song listing up on the left side of the screen.
I think it really depends on where you seat and the production year of the car in my opinion.
In my 2010, I never had to need to adjust any speaker settings. The "surround" effect can be enjoyed anywhere inside the cabin.
In my 2015, however, all you can hear at the driver seat is from the dash speaker when "surround" is on whereas the surround effect works pretty well in the rear seat. In other words, you can enjoy the surround effect as a driver only when "surround" is turned off lol I am not a programmer or engineer, hence it is quite difficult for me to follow the logic. Anyone experience the same?
[QUOTE=Dolph1;10724638]I recall it being a Nav setting. I’ll pull out my manual if you are unable to locate it.[/
Go to # 8 under general settings and set to off. This will keep the map from automatically returning. Here are the instructions from my 2013 nav manual.
