Default 2009 Lexus LS460 AWD

Hi guys, been looking for a 2011 -2012 Lexus LS460 to buy. Tried every where on Kijiji, auto trader and could not find one. I am however finding 2009 LS460s. Currently looking at one with 153 KM and the dealer is asking for $12,950.

See link:
https://www.autotrader.ca/a/Lexus/LS...c-18df212a334b

Question:

1. Is the price fair/good considering the high mileage?
2. Saw and 2010 but the mileage was over 240,000km and still asking for $15,000 . would you consider this ?
3. Are the 2009 LS460s good years for these vehicles ?

Please help with advise. I have posted other threads and received great responses so I am certain that I want to purchase the LS460 between 2011-2012 but I just cannot find one in these years this is why I am considering the older 2009s.

You wanted a 2011 or 2012. You must have a reason for those specific years. Are you considering older models just because of scarcity of '11-'12? That's a reasonable thing to do if you can't wait. But if you can't wait and/or have no selection to choose from then you're going to have to pay the price and accept the miles. Or you could just wait and keep looking. As far as I know, all the years you're considering are a good choice. As always, good maintenance records and a clean mechanic's inspection will always be a better buy.

Look at the ‘13+ models if you can swing it financially.....

I was told at a dealership when searching for an ‘11 or ‘12 that they were scarce due to the tsunamis in Japan that limited production. A lot of the parts suppliers were impacted by the floods.

oh wow! that is good to know and also a good information!. I tried to look at the 13's plus but their prices are simply through the roof.
Nevertheless, I will keep looking. I am however not sure I gathered correctly from your note if you implied the 2009 LS460 vehicle
is also a good vehicle?. This will be my first Lexus as I have heard a lot about them. Would you buy a 2009 Lexus LS460 with 153000KM
on it at that price, i true will appreciate your input?

Cheers!

If you can start with the 2010 model, it will give you more features. It's the same car, just adds things like bluetooth audio, usb, side mirror turn signals, etc.

Fantastic, thank you so much RZ. I will keep on looking. Surprisingly, when I checked with the USA market, they have many of these cars but considering exchange rate, import duties... unknown or hiding charges, I have limited my search to the Canadian market only. Thank you for letting me know of the differences between 2009 and 2010 plus.

Cheers!

I don’t have first hand experience with any 460 before ‘13s; we ended up with a ‘14 that was priced very close to what ‘13s were going for (during late ‘15 when we purchased).

I still prefer the 430 but at over 19 years old it does have some limits on tech features but I don’t miss those.

I don't know what the exact extra cost would be by going to the USA. Maybe it's worth looking into what those exact costs are.You could be surprised in a good way. I assume that exchange rates (currently1.31, pretty high) and any import duties are a known amount. If you have a trade, it may mitigate those amounts. Sounds like you may find many choices of exactly what you're looking for. It may be worth the money. Not saying there's a right or wrong, it's what you're comfortable with.
