Default Cigarette lighter cover

My 2013 has a broken lighter cover or 12v adapter on console by cup holder and I have been trying to replace or possibly just replace cover. I can’t seem to extract it out of the console to replace/repair. I am reluctant to man-handle it out of there, must be an easy way. Does the console need to be removed to replace it?

Thanks for any assistance or link.

Are you referring to the round black plastic cover in the middle of the cup holders?

Yes, the cover over the 12v adapter, looks like the old cigarette lighter receptacle. The cover broke off and the receptacle is exposed.

I had a spare one left over from my Saab. It fit perfectly for the rear seat outlet. I think most covers are pretty interchangeable.

Thanks. Now I am wondering if anyone has replaced theirs and if the console has to be removed to do so. It doesn’t seem to just “pop out”, or allow for easy replacement of the cover. Maybe it just pulls out, but it seems maybe a clip is holding it in place.

Ive taken two of these apart and have the extra part for it. They are the most over-engineered cigarette ports ive never seen in my life. Even if you try to manhandle it, good luck! It might not come apart...

FYI: You have to take the cupholder console out to remove the cigarette port.

The cover rarely comes off unless it’s broken. It’s not an easy part or find because most people don’t know how to remove it from the console.

My local Lexus dealer broke mine when they replaced my windshield. They provided me the full assembly free of charge and I just replaced the cover itself without removing the entire assembly. It takes 30 seconds to switch them out that way.

2013. Didn't have any problem with bending it off the catches.
