My driver side seat heater on my 2008 LS 460, on its highest seat heat setting, is luke warm at best.

What could be the causes ?

Living in dubai dosent make me expert on heating seats but i guess the working procedure for both cool and heat seats are same i.e a blower passing cold or hot air

There is a filter under your seat try looking how clogged or dirty it is try cleaning it or replacing it

No, the heat is from an electric mat (like an electric blanket) between the foam and the leather. Typically the bottom and the back are two separate mats and each either works or it doesn't. I don't know why it would work but not all the way. I'd check the switch first.

Also, I have replaced these before in another model car and it's a royal pain.

Yup sounds like a royal pain to replace the mats ..thanks for the information.

Just a quick question how do you remove and repair those mats ?

What is the source that is providing the electricity to make the mats heat ?

On my Acura, the leather was mounted to the seat frame with something called "hog clamps" (google it). No idea where they come from but they're a pain to deal with. And, of course, this is after you remove the entire seat so you can work on it outside the car! I bought the replacement seat heaters pretty cheap, but my labor to do the job was considerable--probably 8 hours for a single seat. But my labor is a lot cheaper than a dealer's labor, so I saved a ton doing it myself.

The mats are connected to the electrical system using normal auto electrical connectors.
