I have a Lexus LS460 and my black trunk release button has melted. When I push it, it my hands are sticky and black. Does anyone else have this problem?

 

I have the same issue as the rubber has melted so badly it is dripping onto the license plate frame. I ordered the part on eBay for about $5.50 white free shipping. Looks like an easy replacement if you follow the videos someone posted on YouTube.

Be sure to wear latex gloves and be very patient removing that button cover. It's a ooey-gooey mess most likely created by a) Satan b) Malificent or c) Thanos.

I just finished cleaning it using lots of elbow grease, a small common screwdriver, a razor scraper, old t-shirt material and an ****-ton of patience.
