Ongoing struggle for me the last couple of months so seeking some feedback. When you car is cold, what's the level of coolant in the reservoir? Lexus told me a couple of months ago they noticed my reservoir was low, then used a bore-scope to see coolant pooling at the valley plate. They told me there was a leak ($1,500 in labor) but did not provide any documentation as to how they identified the source of the leak (pressure test for extended period of time, etc) or where it was coming from.
My coolant level stays at "low" and does not move, even after a 100 mile one-way trip in the blazing 95 degree fall weather we had here last weekend. However, I recently filled my coolant level to "Full" when my car was cold, drove < 10 miles and checked it again when it was cold and the level was already at "low."
In short, my level seems to always stay at "low." Can anyone else provide feedback on where your coolant level sits? There has been one member here (FatherToOne) who had a coolant leak - being an LS owner for the last 12 years tells me these cars are wildly predictable - meaning issues tend to be few and far between, but when there is an issue it would be noted by more than just one member here.
Appreciate the help as I continue scratching my head on this.
