Question for the 21'' drivers
Although it is not winter yet I'm looking to buy a summer set up for next year. So I scrolled through the whole wheels topic and already asked around in my area at wheel shops. Well that turned out pretty bad, got comments like;
- Wheels are not available in 21''
- You are not allowed to get bigger then 20'' on a Lexus, if you get in an accident, insurance companies will not pay out. Ow and we have some 20'' available.
- We have a set available but wheels and tires are 7000 euro ( roughly 7700 dollar)
So basicly I told them to not bull**** the bull****ter and started looking outside of The Netherlands.
The wheels I have my eyes on at the moment are Vossen HF-3 in the color Satin Bronze. My 2007 LS 460 has a kind of brown color and I think it will combine nice however, I have some questions regarding the tires:
-Most of you guys are running tires in the size 245/35/21 for the front and 285 or 295/30/21 at the back. Do you guys still have a big gap around the wheels?
- Is it possible to mount for example 245/40/21 on the front and 285 or 295/35/21 at the back? I don't care about the speedometer difference speed.
- Is the car still comfortable to drive with 21'' wheels. It is my daily and family car and don't want it to get uncomfortable
- My LS 460 has air suspension and is on standard height, so I also don't like anything to rub, nor do I want to change something at the fenders and or suspension.
-My budget for wheels and tires is around 3700 dollar, this should be possible or is this too less.
Kind regards,
Eric

@Higgie,
We already had contact on the Dutch forum, you have all the same size wheels around, where I would like to get the rears wider. Maybe I have to let my idea go and also put all the same sizes around, since not every tiresize is avalible and I don't want different tires in the front and back.
Regarding The Netherlands, my car gets parked in my garage, parking garages and or open spaces so not so much curb problems.
@sdl s,
English is not my native language, but these notes in my original post provide the answers on your question:

@prsuit 460,
First of all your car looks stunning, I guess however you also got it lowerd. You even have less tire on the rims if I see your tiresize.
