Default How can I test pre collision system

I have a Lexus LS 600h (2007). Sometimes when an other car approaching from behind my, at high speed the front head rest activated.
"If it detects an imminent collision, the front seat headrests are automatically moved up and forwards to help prevent whiplash injury."
I realized that it works only the passenger side. But. I know that the headrest include a electrostatic capacity sensor that monitored how far my head from the headrest and if my head is too close the headrest safety system not activated.
I would like to test that my driver side headrest safety is works on not. How can I test it?
ca

You can't test it. If it activates, you are about to crash into something. We are talking about mere second or so. Those with advanced PCS get a little more pre-alerts such as beeps and other things to alert the driver.

I know in techstream you can manually trigger the seat belt pretensioners but I'm not sure is there is a test for the headrest, you might want to check it out. If you are really dedicated by testing it by all mean necessary you could also strap some kind of inflatable dummy to another car in front of you so that the car is in front of your car and the dummy in the back of your car and then accelerate with the car in the front. For sure that would trigger the system. If you do this make sure you log the can-bus data using something like canutils so that other peoples that want to test this feature would just need to replay the data in their canbus network to simulate this event instead of going through all that hassle.
