Default Pads And Rotors

2013 460 67k needs new P/R warped. Consensus says to go with Akebonus Pads and Centric Premium Rotors. Have about $400 + to throw at the front brakes. Options?
Tired of the O/E grabby brakes, exspecially when someone else drives it. Thanks ahead of time for any input.

I would actually do Centric Posi-quiet ceramic pads with the Centric Premium rotors. Nothing against the Akebono, I just haven't used them and I prefer to match the brands

I bought the Raybestos® Performance Rotors for $29 bucks a piece, big error on their part ( Rockauto) these are normally $100, they have since pulled them, he he!

Any warping yet? How many miles on the new gear?

The ones I have on my 2017 are brand new, but I put the same set on my 2015 and when I traded it I had put about 25,000 miles on the set, and never had any warping. The OEM rotors were warped within 5,000 miles.

Did you do the job yourself? I’ve never touched mine but I’ve done many American break jobs. Thinking it would be just a strate forward job?

I installed the Centric Premium Rotors and Pads last fall, front and back, on my '11 LS. They're great. The car brakes much better (smoother) than with the OEM,s.

I did the brake job about two years ago. Now with 8,000 miles on them and no issues at all. These Centric rotors and pads are much better than oem. And I like the black rotor hats too.

When I bought the car, the dealership had the rotors cut because of pulsating when braking but the the problems did not go away. I got fed up with it so I went with what these guys were recommending (Centric rotors and pads).

I ordered fronts and rears from RockAuto for less than $400. It took my about 5 hours to replace them myself.

Here’s the link to my thread.
