After two day trips to Phoenix this week (250 miles roundtrip each) I have noticed a gas smell when exiting the car and walking past the driver side back door. When opening the back door there is an obvious gas smell from the rear pillar a.c. vent.
Car only has 16,000 miles on it so obviously wondering if barely being driven up until this year is a factor
Any ideas before the dealership tears it apart and I have to sell my 04 430 and a kidney?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Oh man...thanks for the heads up! I'll call my advisor on Monday. At least it's not a fluke unique to my car. Being paranoid I left it in the driveway just in case something happened.
Driving the old 430 for now which is the world's greatest backup.
Thanks again for posts.
Had the same thing happen to our LS, when the weather is super hot very, strong gas odor is released. It rarely comes and only on reallly hot days and a lot of driving.
On ours one day I was able to catch it near our house and had tools to where I tore into the drivers side wheel well liner where the oder was coming from. Nothing looked out of place! The only thing I could suggest to replace would be the gas cap itself.
