I think the bottom line is that this has always been a collaborative forum, responses like the OP got above are out of line and outside of the character of this forum. We've always had a remarkable lack of that kind of stuff. Hopefully that isn't a trend.

I apologize for that response on behalf of the forum OP.

Ok, well I got my code reader back and I have the following codes. Time to do a little more research.

It could either bad accumulator or actuator or both thats worse case scenario. Maybe a very small leak in the brake lines that go to the wheels from actuator .
BTW C1241 could be the reason . Its triggered if there is a voltage drop . Meaning battery

Check attachment.

Thanks man. This is what I have been looking for. I guess my next step is to pick up a Techstream setup so I can bleed the brake system and work on diagnosis. I didn’t realize Techstream would be required for a simple brake bleed.

My battery was just replaced roughly a year ago, but I guess it would be best to inspect cables and such to rule it out.

Ok, here’s another quick question while I’m checking this stuff out. I’m not sure if this is normal or not, but my car has always done this sort of priming as long as I have had it. I have removed some of the engine plastic prices and the brake actuator is definitely the culprit of the noise.

Is this normal?????

Hey, I hear something like that on mine too but everything works fine. Hmmm... I gotta go check it out and listen to it again. Thanks.

It usually doesn’t sound that loud with the plastic covers and hood closed, but I’ve been hearing this for roughly a year.

Anyone else have any input?

I echo the sentiments of others about the unnecessary comments in this thread.
I too have an 07 that hasn’t had the
actuator replaced with 109k miles. It seems as if these just go out indiscriminately which is unfortunate.
I am very interested in hearing about your journey through this process.

edit: did you ever feel like your brakes didn’t have enough bite to them, not in the process of braking but at a light w/o brake hold engaged it feels like my brakes slip sometimes like I need to put more pressure than I normally do in a car, my brakes and rotors have less than 5k miles.

Did you just start the car or what else did you do? I need to test mine as well

The pump is trying to pressurize the system. Due to a leak in pressure it could not pressurize.

The brakes typically feel fine. I can say that I feel they need more bite, however I have hear some strange noises from time to time.

In the video above, all that was done was open the driver-side car door. The car had not been drove for roughly 24 hours.

That was my thought as well. I only took a short video, but after the extended “priming” noise it will continue the short primes every few 7 to 10 seconds for a little while.

Be careful if the pump( accumulator) is working too long it could blow a fuse or it could die premature failure. Check the lines that go from the abs actuator to the wheels and confirm that there is no leak and all the fitting are tight . If the lines are ok . That means the brake (abs) actuator is bad and need replacing .
