Congrats on the A8L! It looks gorgeous with all the tech and gadgets. The dual moonroofs are neat. The ambient lighting looks nicer than in the LS, but maybe not extensive as in the S class?
Awesome. I love Audi's interior illumination at night - I don't think they've ever deviated from the red backlighting. Unique and fits their cars perfectly. Enjoy!

i traded the A8L in last Friday. I simply didn’t like the car. Outside of the turbo boost and beast-type acceleration, I just couldn’t get used to the car. It creeked like crazy, the suspension at lower speeds over bumps and just over all wasn’t appealing, the drivetrain wasn’t anywhere near as smooth as my 12 year old LS I traded to get this car and the front control a bushings were already crunching over speed bumps.
The flip up screen was starting to glitch. When you start he car, it’s supposed to come up immediately. Sometimes it would, other times there’d be a delay of about 3-5 seconds. The camera quality was horrid. There was an annoying drivetrain/AWD hum that got on my nerves to no end!! When making tight turns, I’d get the same hum/vibration which Audi kept saying was normal due to the Quattro system. Every button was a hard click...
At highway speeds it was nice and very fun to drive. Put that thing is sports mode-forget about it! But I simply missed the Lexus refinement.
I had some negative equity, so I ended up working a deal for a lease on a 2019 RX 350L. Excellent ride, very smooth and it just feels right. Just came back from a road trip totaling about 700 miles and it was so comfortable and smooth. Still not as refined as an LS, but it’s that signature Lexus drive, and that’s what I missed. I’ll post photos soon.
When I’m out of it in 3 years, I’ll either look at a GX or another LS.
Too bad the A8L didn’t work out. The car was loaded with so much tech, but obviously that can’t make up for all the annoying issues you listed. Do you have kids who enjoyed the rear DVD system? Does the RX350 have rear DVD? Do post a few pics of your new ride!!
Maybe we will see you in another LS in a few years. Like I said before: Once you drive an LS, you won’t care for anything eLSe
Yep, never expected a V6 and awd to match the smoothness of a RWD V8 Lexus. I had 2 stints with German sedans back in the day. A 2000 Audi A6 4.2. A beautiful rolling piece of art. Extra cool with the flared fenders. It was well behaved then the rear transmission gear went out, fix and sold it. After having a 99 Lexus GS400 I got a 2004 Mercedes E500 but sold it 4 months later via private sale at near break even price. I remember emailing the dealer the next day to see if they can get me an LS430 to trade the recently purchased E500!! The E500 had so many system buzzes, system checks, warning that pop up and disappear. I just did not feel comfortable in it. Replaced it with a 2005 GS430 and felt right at home.
I have a 2008 LS460 that is all sorted out and drives near perfect. I have an itch for something newer but every time I drive the LS460 I ask myself why get rid of it since it is so relaxing and enjoyable to drive. I've come to the conclusion that the only way to ensure and capture that same feeling is to replace it with 2013+ rwd LS460.

Have you tried a Genesis G90, probably the closest thing to your LS460 while offering some newer tech/features.
I may have to switch to the G90 is Lexus doesn't bring back the V8 for the LS500. All they had to do is use the 5.0 V8 they already had and refine it !

I am still puzzled why they did that, they could have also offered a ttV6 along with the V8 though I think the design and interior also need to be addressed in the new LS too. Unfortunately I don't think they are going to offer a normal 8 cylinder for the LS, if they offer one it is likely going to be "special" and have a big premium which will ensure low sales.
