Proximity Sensors
So, - there's been a 2016 LS460 added to the stable of cars in the garage. One thing we have noticed (and missed) is that despite all the fancy parking assist stuff that comes up on the screen, the beeping proximity sensors are not there. - Or is it that they are just not turned on? I can't find any reference to them in the literature, so at this stage am just assuming they have been abandoned. If someone knows for sure that they are no longer installed... or knows how to turn them on, I'd be grateful for the information.
On the dash, left side of the steering wheel, there's "P" with a light above it and 'transmission lines' like you'd see on a WiFi connection. If that light is not on, the parking assist is 'off'.
Just push it to turn it on. Lexus, thankfully, placed the lit indicator in a place where you don't see it unless you're looking for it, which is smart, as most people would never turn it off, but I know I certainly do not want to see that LED constantly.
At least I don't think it's normally visible with the steering wheel in a straight-ahead position.
