Unhappy Got Keyed

Some @#$%^ keyed my car--from the tail light to the front edge of the front door on the driver's side. Car is the bright white F-Sport color, forget its exact name. Pretty deep in spots--wonder if it's have to be completely repainted or if they can just fill it in. Will have to call the insurance company and find a body shop tomorrow. Ugh.

That's terrible! I hope the body shop can make it look like new. Where did this happen? How long were you away from the car? Please post a picture to give us a sense of the damage. Depending upon where you were parked, there may be some camera footage.

It was parallel parked at a local park while I went rollerblading. I was away for quite some time. Don't think there are any cameras, or that the police would have the resources to track it down even if there were. Who knows; could be somebody I pissed off, but more likely just envy/jealousy. The risk of having a such a nice car I suppose.

Here's a couple of pictures, but it's hard to photograph. The scratch goes the length of the car minus the front fender. It's rough at the back of the car like more pressure was applied and the paint was chipping.

Sorry this happened to your LS but the world is full cowards, haters and people who have no respect for others.

Probably a repaint job. But there is a pen you can buy that fills the scratch with a very thin clearcoat and makes it much less visible. I tried several on my '99 RX300 when it got keyed. Most did not help but this one worked really well:

Amazon Amazon

You'll still see the scratch, depending on the lighting but it will be much less noticeable.

That sux! Sorry to read this. Some **** wipe just dinged my back passenger door. It's more like a small dent with the white paint of the other car still showing. Some people are just jerks!

Called State Farm, they recommended a body shop. Body shop estimate came in at $2100 and 8 business days to complete. Ouch. Glad I have insurance!

So, I guess I'll need to find a safer place to park when I want to skate at the greenbelt...

That's terrible. People suck.

You could always try something like this to see how it turns out since it's fairly inexpensive.

When you get it back from the body shop, get some dash cams installed with parking mode.

My concern is that same jerk will attempt again if you park the LS in the same spot/area. I hate people becuase of things like this. Really pisses me off.

Is it really that deep? From the pics you might be able to do some light wet sanding, compounding and polishing to make it almost disappear. I would make sure your insurance rates don't go up if you have them do it. What is your deductible?

That sucks. It will get fixed and look good as new. Glad to hear you’re insured for it. Let’s hope the jerk gets caught by a very angry man on his next attempt.
Good luck.
