Default Spring is here time for some mods.. gloss black dark chrome.. chime in

Anyone here done a silver car with all black grille or blacked out all the chrome trim? It is hard to visualise

i think silver with black mirrors might look odd I’m not sure..

options are

1. Leave side mirrors alone

2. Update to led side mirrors leave it silver.

3. Led side mirrors in the chosen accent colour.

Change the colour of all the chrome pieces..grille. Window trim, lower door trim, trunk emblems And rims will be powder coated to match. to either gloss black, satin or flat black or some darker shade of gunmetal grey.

If gloss black is chosen should be roof be vinly black too ?

If another has done something similar let he know where to look thanks

It's springtime in the Ukraine? I thought you didn't get spring until the first of July!

If I do all of those things I probably need to do my headlights and taillights as well just do they match up , no point doing a 1/2 arsed job.

so here’s a random photo of someone’s car for visualisation.

So the idea is to dechrome everything inside the headlights.

But here’s where the choices make or break the project.

1. There’s the chrome area around the Nike lights sort of goes around the whole lights, Satin or gloss black?

2. Get rid of all the orange? There’s a plastic orange piece at the side...

3. Keep everything in there satin or make some pieces gloss like the projector shrouds?

Let me know what you guys think

As much as like the blacked out look on my '15 Crafted edition, I wouldn't paint the mirrors if they already match the car. Many cars actually charge extra for color matched side mirrors.

I think you are bored and I smell a recipe for disaster.

I'd start with these wheels which will IMMEDIATELY transform the look of your car. Get size 255/45/19 tires which I believe some folks have for extra "meat" and width on the tires. Then from there get the black pearl emblem kit to match the wheels which I see on Ebay going for around $275.

You can decide to paint other trim pieces like the grill surround chrome piece etc.

I have a black FSport. I have the black pearl emblems and had the window chrome vinyl wrapped in gloss black.

I think if i wrapped the lower door trim it would be too dark. I have debated blacking out the outline of the spindle grill but it is only a tiny bit of chrome and doesn’t bother me.

Why not not start by wrapping the roof in black gloss?
You could also wrap or hydro dip the mirrors in carbon fiber or plain black.

and i think that applies to super cheap cars or trucks that come with lots of matte black plastic pieces, these days you would be hard pressed to find a car that does not come with body coloured mirrors.

I am not set on it yet, will only paint if I get a set of factory led mirrors.

that was what I was thinking about black....black on mercury silver is not that great... either paint or wrap not much diff there...

i may have found a place that could chrome things for a good Price what you guys think about the same dark chrome like in the 460 emblems? I’m not paying 200+ for some dark chromed emblems if I can have them done.... but question is... same level of darkness or way darker? What will look good? Hard to say till it is on the car... suggestions ?
