Default Vibration at low speeds

Just purchased a 2011 ls awd ,1/08/2019, and felt low speed vibration in steering wheel and gas pedal. Is this a common problem with the model?

Is the vibration more noticeable while slowing (foot off the gas) around 50-45?

Check out my old thread here --> https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...this-leak.html

The bearing discussed from post 46 on was the source of the vibration I mention above for me. If that sounds like your problem, get it fixed soon (replace passenger side front axle) or it could cause bigger issues with the front differential.

Default Absolutely

I took my vehicle back to the dealership and the mechanic drove it and experienced vibration at deceleration between 38 and 45 mph. They are going replace to replace the front left and right axle

This is an ongoing problem. I had both front axles replaced on my 2011 and 2013 LS 460 L AWD. Weird pattern........

What was actually wrong with the axles / what went bad on them? (though technically they're call halfshafts)

No clue. In my situation there was consistent vibration when I took my foot off the gas. Once I applied pressure to the pedal it went away. Both LS’s I owned had the same exact problem. In my case both cars under 30k miles. Luckily covered under powertrain warranty

A run of improperly balanced halfshafts made it to production for a few years. It's not bad when new, but the vibration causes the oil pan bearing to go bad over time resulting in the vibration becoming more noticeable. Once bad enough it can damage the front diff as shown in my thread linked above.
