My 2010 does nothave those, norear ac either. With the vents in the pillars, the back of the console and such I doubt they'd put a vent in the door to blow on the side of your hip, not to mention having to get air channeled through the door. Much easier to simply add a vent under and through the rear seat itself . But they might put a sensor there to monitor your body temp. That system was alluded to in some of the marketing materials. Thats my guess.

I was kind of guessing a sensor also but wasn’t sure. I know there are supposed to be several but I just noticed it today after 2 years when I was cleaning the car. Thanks.

Gotta be a temp sensor. I know I read somewhere at one time that those with rear AC automatically adjust temp and fan based on the temp of the occupant, not the cabin itself.
